posted in Utility News by mooglyguy on Aug 29th, 2003

A new version of the NSF player by Disch, NotSoFatso, has been released. Here's what's new:
  • All 8 emulated sound channels have individual volume and pan controls, as well as the ability to be disabled completely.
  • VRC6 extension chip is emulated -- NSFs like Madara and Akumajou Densetsu are now fully supported.
  • 6502 Core is timed extremely accurately (official timing specs by Rockwell were used in development)
  • All "Undocumented" 6502 opcodes are also emulated.
  • Sound filtering options are available, such as a Lowpass Filter (as seen in NoseFart) and up to 16x Multisampling (as seen in Festalon)
  • Playback Speed can be controlled through an optional speed throttle which adjusts the number of play calls per second (as seen in GNSF)
  • Supports NSFE files which allow for individual track lengths and fade times, as well as track labels and other features.
  • Customizable Format String allow you to choose how you want the title to be displayed in Winamp.
  • Fast and accurate seeking.
  • Customizable playback options... choose from anywhere up to 96000Hz playback.
You can find it and other NSF players in our NSF Utilities section.
