JavaGear Beta 4a

JavaGear is a Sega Master System/Game Gear emulator for Java coded by Chris White and can be run in an applet, in a webpage, or application form. Beta 4 was released a couple days ago as well as a bugfix version, Beta 4a. Here's what's new in the two versions:

  • Fixed zoomed sprite bug introduced in Beta 4

  • This release is faster and more compatible
  • CORE: Should now work correctly under WindowsXP/2000
  • CORE: New Drawing Code. Double/Triple display modes more usable
  • Z80: Halfcarry and Overflow flags corrected. (Ghost House, Golden Axe, James Pond, California Games and more)
  • Z80: BIT instruction flags fixed. (Bart vs. the Space Mutants)
  • Z80: CPDR instruction flags fixed
  • Z80: RRD/RLD instruction flags fixed
  • Z80: Undocumented SLL opcode implemented (not used by any games I'm aware of)
  • VDP: Speed increase
  • SND: Minor SN76496 Bug fixes
  • UI: SMS Pause button mapped to Game Gear Start Key
  • UI: More Responsive
