Game.Com technical information requested

posted in Misc. News by deathadder on Feb 6th, 2003

I am seeking any and all available technical information regarding Tiger's now unsupported Game.Com handheld console, once dubbed the "ultimate portable gaming system". The reason for this information being needed is related to a project I would like to launch, so the game system could see the release of at least one new game in today's game market. Wouldn't that be exciting? Yes... but the folks at Tiger Toys sent me a generic form letter when I approached them and the credits for produced games are nowhere to be found, making it basically impossible for me to locate a former Game.Com developer. Not a very positive outlook, so I'm taking my need for information to the masses. Let's see how it goes. If you have ever approached the Game.Com from any angle (reverse engineering, emulator development, code, dumping game or program roms, etc.) please feel free to contact me via e-mail and help in my seemingly impossible quest. What I am looking for:
  • Technical specifications information
  • Programming information (code, test roms, dumped roms, docs, etc.)
  • Any compiler, development tools, development suite software, etc.
  • Sound / sprite / graphic / music handling information
  • Just about anything else that would be beneficial [?]
Thanks, folks. Please pass this information around, post it on other emulation related websites, tell your cousin about it, etc. I'd like to think that someone out there knows something that could be of use to us. For serious responces (not for nagging me), use the following e-mail address to get in touch: gamecom@superfighter.com Let's be hopeful, now. :)
