DOSBox v0.55

posted in Emulator Release by lillymon on Aug 29th, 2002

DOSBox was updated to version 0.55 today. This seems to be quite a major release with many fixes and speed ups.
  • CPU: Some new instructions, some fixed instructions and some more speed.
  • VGA: Rewrote 16 color modes, fixes some bugs and gives more speed.
  • SBLASTER: Fixed DMA transfers from EMS and DMA startup.
  • MEMORY: Total rewrite for better mapping support and more speed.
  • EMS/XMS: Total rewrite because of the new memory, supporting more functions now.
  • DOS: Basic support for FCB functions, and fixed a bunch of file handling routines.
  • BIOS: Fixed text scrolling in EGA modes and fonts being wrong in old sierra games.
  • MISC: Lot's of other small bugfixes, should hopefully help a few more games in running correctly.
