Connectix Trial News

I just had a chance to see this news at PSXEmu, and I must say that it's a rather impressive bit of news: The Connectix-Sony trial over VirtualGameStation was likely settled out of court. Apparently, Connectix had a killer witness who would have taken away Sony's best argument. Here's the explanation from PSXEmu: The said witness was asked by a lawyer representing Connectix, Gabe Ramsey, for more information concerning a popular PlayStation document on the web (The 'would-be' witness is the author of the document), and even asking if he could be a witness, if it was needed. The author replied, giving the info needed, and was willing to testify if needed. If called upon to testify, the author would probably destroy Sony's whole 'trade secrets' argument, since the author of this document knows the ins and outs of the PlayStation console, and has published them to the web for all to learn from. As weeks went on, the said author was preparing for trial, when he received word that the case was resolved without the need for a trial. He did not receive any specifics, but he did receive permission to tell others the news. And here it is ;) The witness, Joshua Walker, author of the definitive PSX Documentation Project, which can be found in its entirety on our PSX Tech Docs page, also mentioned to PSXEmu that he's going to begin working on a new version of the document soon. Thanks again to our friends at PSXEmu for the news.
