SYD9X v1.02 Readme - (c)1998 Phlagellum
---------------------------------------

Welcome to Syd9X, the new FrontEnd for SNES9X 1.0!

This is the FIRST release. I have tested it thoroughly, but
undoubtedly there will be some bugs which I did not catch.
EMAIL me to let me know if you encounter any bugs! Thanks.

*** Special thanks to Syd the wise old Wizard for making a cameo
in SYD9X. What would it be without him?

INSTALLATION:
    - Copy all files to the directory with SNES9X in it!
    - Run S9.EXE

Fixes from v1.01
   - Added 8 button support for SNES9X 1.0a

Features implemented in this frontend are:
   - Supports all SNES9X 1.0 configuration commands.
   - Support for Cheat Codes included.
   - Fully configurable. Stores individual settings for each ROM.
   - Easy to use GUI with 99% mouse interface. (Yes, you have to
        type in the cheat codes.)
   - 100% DOS Program. Run it in true DOS, a DOS box, or Windows.
   - You'll find other stuff to like inside... just read the
important info below and then RUN IT!

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW! READ THIS!
-------------------------------------
   - Operation of the GUI is straightforward. Clicking the 'X'
button will NOT save changes. Use the 'OK' button to
        save changes.

   - In case someone really can't figure it out, use the 'X'
button in the upper right to exit without loading a
ROM into SNES9X. All settings for the current ROM
        WILL be saved.

   - Any questions, click the online help buttons.

   - Click the ABOUT button the first time you use this program.

   - How the Default config works:
Before you load a ROM, you will be modifying the DEFAULT
settings. When you load a ROM or exit, these settings
are automatically saved to the config file. Whenever
you load a new ROM which has not been loaded before with
SYD9X, it will be loaded with your DEFAULT settings.

   - I strongly recommend setting up the DEFAULT configuration
        FIRST!

   - The DEFAULT buttons on the config pages (SOUND, EMULATION,
GRAPHICS, CONTROLS) will reset the choices on that page
to the SNES9X defaults, not to your user defaults.

   - If you panic and think you've messed up your configs beyond
the point of repair, just delete S9.CFG.

   - Send me an EMAIL to let me know you use this program.

   - Because SNES9X works from command line parameters, there is
a limit to how long the command string can be. Therefore
in some cases, all 5 cheat codes (if entered) will not be
able to be used. If this is the case, SYD9X will notify
you when loading the ROM and config into SNES9X.

   - Remember, to load save games, you do that in SNES9X with Shift
        and the Function keys.
