Support File Info
This document is to help users understand where the support files come from. Hopefully this will help you to understand if your having an issue, where the issue is coming from.

MAME itself is used to create 2 of the support files. Li.txt and Sets.txt
These are created using 2 DOS command line switches.( out of a possible 3) All of these examples will assume the directory C:\MAME>

C:\MAME>MAME -listinfo > li.txt - this creates the li.txt using an older MAMe switch if you have an older version.
or
C:\MAME>MAME -listXML > li.txt - this is the newer version of the previos command line switch

C:\MAME>MAME -verifysets > sets.txt - this tests and cerates a list of good and bad rom sets.

Each of these 2 files should them be copied to the ultrastyle/cfg folder. These are step 1 and 2 in ultraconfig.

MyRomInfo.exe is the 3rd step once these 2 files have been created. It uses both to determine what ROMs you have on your machine. First it takes the ~15MB Li.txt and strips info and deletes LI.txt to create ~650K mini-li.txt. Then it uses mini-li.txt in conjuction with sets.txt to create Non-working.txt and MyRomInfo.txt. Non-working.txt is for your use only, it is not used in ultrastyle. If you want to know what roms you have, but don't work, this is the list. It tells you rom name as well as game name so you can track down working ROMs. MyRomInfo.txt is the MAIN ultrastyle file. It is an alphabetical list of your known working ROMs, with additional info. At this point ultrastyle will work without filtering enabled. Its just 1 big wheel of all your games.

When you enable filtering, you need to have the catlist file from http://mameworld.net/catlist. After that, you can run Cat Config.exe. this file sorts your MyRomInfo.txt according to category. It creates 2 files. Category.txt and Catlist.txt. Category.txt is a list of the different categories available in the cat list, along with counts of how many of each you have. Catlist.txt is the MyRomInfo.txt file presorted by category. these 2 files are what is used in the filter wheel mose, and in the sub category modes. At this point, ultrastyle should run with filtering enabled.

A few other support files are created while you use ultrastyle or when you save them in ultraconfig.
Favorites.ini - is updated every time you add a favorite inside ultrastyle, or when you save it from ultraconfig.
Other.txt - External EXEs for the "Other" subcategory. ultraconfig helps you set this file up.
Lastgame.ini - starts out blank, saves game info every time you choose a game to play.
AutoPlay.txt - runs a random game chosen from a list. ultraconfig helps you set this file up.

any other support files in the /cfg folder are edited directly from ultraconfig. I hope this sheds some light on what is being created and when. If you get stuck at certian points, you should be able to tell how to delete a file and what to do to re-create it.
