An indicator in the status bar show what kind of installation is detectedDownload the latest release from http://www.bigfoot.com/~ebolefeysot
Unzip file in your neorage directory. (use -d flag with pkunzip)Zip file contain:
- Runit_NR.exe : front end main program
- RuniI.doc\...: Html documentation (This one)Launch Run-It.
- If you're updating from a previous version, a message ask you if you want to replace the games.csv file. Answer yes to have an up-to-date games list. Rename your old pic directory (TitlePic or GamePic).
- If this is the first installation, all directories and files will be created.See the bios file chapter to install neo geo bios.
Unzip snapshots packs (if any) in the runit\TitlePic or runit\GamePic.
Typical installation should be:
Run-It:
- RunIt\bios\neogeo\[Put neo geo standart bios here]
- RunIt\bios\kiwi\[Put Kiwi bios here]
- RunIt\TitlePic\[Put title games snapshots here]
- RunIt\GamePic\[Put In-games snapshots here]
- RunIt\games.csv
- RunIt.doc\...
- RunIt.htm
- RunIt_NR.exeNeorage:
- Dos4gw.exe
- neorage.exe
You need neogeo roms to play games. Copy them in a directory (you don't need to unzip them). Then, launch Run-It, go to neorage menu and choose options. In path tab, you must select directories where your roms are. (for example, one in your HD, and the other in your CD :))
Zip, roms dir and picture must have the same name and must match games.csv dos name.(A list is given at the end of the document).
CDROM installation
You can install all files on your CDROM. To play, just insert CD and launch Run-It, or make an autorun !!
- First, install Run-It on your HD (see HD installation)
The difference between HD and CD installation is that Run-It will use an alternate path as working directory. This directory must be write-enabled (located on HD).
- Launch Run-It, go to the neorage/option menu and choose an alt path on your HD. Don't forget to choose a rom path on your CD (relative path such as .\roms is better).
- Exit Run-It
- You can now write the directory to your CD (don't forget the doc)Note: Neorage, dos4gw and neoinit.dat must not be compressed on the CD.
Hi scores, settings and snapshots are saved in the alt path.
- Launch run it :)
- Open neorage options and set rom directories
- Change filter in view menu
- On the first column, you can see a flag:
red : the game is not found on the disk.
green : the game is found (not zipped)
z-green : the game is found (zipped)
- You can browse game database, sort games, year or manufacturer by clicking headers.
- Reorder column as you like (header drag & drop)
- If you're looking for a particular game, type its name to track it.
- You can check options as you want in the options tab.
- Select neogeo options in the neogeo menu.
- Double click, press enter or select run menu to launch neorage.
- Refresh list with F5
- A contextual menu is available (right click)
- You can switch between title and game snapshot by middle click or Del key.
- If you have an intellimouse, use it :)
The games.csv is now built in the main program. If it is not found, it is generated. It contains all informations about games. The format is a standart csv. You can edit it with excel or any other text editor.
All entries are available from Run-It.
Run-It can use multiple bios.
Create a folder per bios in the RunIt\bios\ directory. You can name them as you want.
Unzip your bios files in these directoriesExample:
- RunIt\Bios\game genie\neo-geo.rom
- RunIt\Bios\game genie\ng-lo.rom
- RunIt\Bios\game genie\ng-sfix.rom
- RunIt\Bios\game genie\ng-sm1.rom
- RunIt\Bios\game genie\readme.htm
- ...These bios automatically appear in the neogeo menu. The checked bios will be used.
I no bios is available in the bios directory, the one in the neorage directory is used.WARNING : If you put a bios in the bios directory, all files with .rom and .gdb extension will be deleted in the neorage directory.
Run-It allows direct access to bios features such as language and system thru menus. Bios configuration is dynamically retrieved from the neorage files.
Neorage allow you to take snapshot of a game by pressing F8 during play. This generate a bitmap snapshot file named shotx.bmp in the shots directory of neorage (x is an integer).
Run-It automatically renames this file using the real game name. If you use Run-It from a CDROM, snapshot are saved in the shot directory in the alternate path.
Run-It can also move the file to the Run-It pic. You can immediately see the picture in the preview window of Run-It ! This function is enabled by default. If you want to disable it, uncheck the box in the snapshot panel of the options tab. The snapshot format remain the same (bmp) and only the latest (more recent) snapshot is moved. If you use Run-It from a CDROM, snapshot processing is not available. WARNING : Old pictures of the game beeing processed will be erased ( bmp, gif and jpg).
If you uncheck the second box in the option window, the snapshot is copied instead of moved. (It remains in the neorage shot directory)
Options are the same for all games.
Sort, column order and selected game are not saved.
