CREATION OF THE LEVELS

Before I talk about the stages and how they came to be, I will say that this hack was mostly worked on within the span of a month, though that process took slightly over a month, so its your choice to say whether or not it was under a month.

This hack was made for my birthday, or more or less was a challenge of myself to make a hack within a short time and to practice more on making some harder levels. Another hack that I'm making more into a joke is also like this.

I would say the middle of the hack may be the most unbalanced when it comes to difficulty spike, mostly from Level 4 to Level 5, but that's just me. Also Levels 10, 11, and 12 are very difficult or insane.

I believe I got general things out of the way. Now on to the levels!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

LEVELS

Tutorial - Why Is This Even A Stage?
The title to this level is kinda accurate, as all I did with this stage was edit Day of the Tentacle (ZAMN 0b/1b) into a goofy manor, putting trees everywhere, having mummies spawn behind them, and then making the level longer and throwing a gridiron on the space. Even though Level 1 is more of a Tutorial stage than the Tutorial stage itself, its still good when you enter BCDF because you can get stuff like early game Cross, Monster Potion, and a Flamethrower, as well as showing you what the Blue Dollar Bills look like. Good stage to get some goodies, also 6 trashcans grouped together to get some random loot too.

(I did add Hamburgers, Martian Bubble Gun, Flamethrower, Footballs, Bananas and 1 Ups to the drop table, just wanted to mention this before I continue)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rescue The Neighbors For The Party! - Stage 1 Victims vs Zombies
The change to the Zombies was near the end part of this hacks creation. Not at the very end, but more closer to finished than not. Originally The Second Frame of the Title used to say Level 1 Hurry Up My Zombos, considering half of the Zombies in this stage was the fast type. However due to the addition of the Zombies from Plants vs Zombies ds, I decided to change the title to what it is now, since I feel its more fitting.

When I was porting the Zombie sprites over, luckily I didn't have to do too much to them as they ported with I would say the most accurate colors I could try and get it to without doing too much with it, so I was happy with it.

Theres also a couple "new" enemies emphasis on the new considering that in the orginal ZAMN, things have to spawn under certain conditions, however one of the first "new" enemies is the cabinet monster being able to spawn outside of a cabinet on repeat. They just behave how other enemies normally spawn.

I do have Droter and Joseph K on this level, as Droter will inform you about the collectible Blue Dollar in every stage, which was both removed from drop cabinets, and was changed from giving you 1000 points to 5000. Joseph lets you know that the hack will get difficult.

Overall I went ahead and just made a small default grass themed level for the first stage, and I'm happy with that, and decided to put the unused snow theme on it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage 2 - Gore Galleria
The first mall stage of this hack, which I was happy with how this stage came out. At the start you spawn infront of 3 Soda Machines which throws soda at you. Shooting and breaking the vending machines will drop soda, however frames right when you spawn into the stage turn it into a fire. I'm unsure of why this is.

This stage is the first stage that introduces Evil Dolls, kinda like Terror In Aisle Five (ZAMN Level 3). It also features Spiders in their first appearance, as well as another cabinet monster from the previous level.

Getting some items are put in complex spots, and require a bit of thinking to access. Items like clowns, gold coins are guarded by Evil Dolls so they're fairly easy to get. Other items like the Cross pickup in that stage requires you to jump down from the top Trampoline where the Trampoline Girl is. Accessing the blue dollar bill and other stuff on the lower floor require you to use Trampolines from the right of the first Cheerleader.

This stage also introduces new tiles, as the ones made were supposed to fix a softlock, as before you were able to get stuck. There is also a bonus level you can find but that requires Bazooka from Level 1. Same thing for the Monster Potion

The design is in the middle of the list on how much I like, as this isn't a poorly designed stage imo, however I like some of the other level designs way more.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bonus Stage - What Hides Underneath The Galleria (2B/YNXN-4/Level File 20)
Of course, a ZAMN hack typically has a few Bonus Levels sprinkled in it. This stage is the first Bonus Level you will find of 3 in this hack, and is the last level in the games code.

I can understand why the level may be a little off putting or maybe slightly lazy to some, however the idea behind it was supposed to be a very dark area underneath Level 2, and only the tiles that aren't completely blank are the areas that have light and you can see. If I made the entire level layout. Some rooms would be much more connected, but because of the lights, its kinda a long 1 way for most of the stage.

The level also gives you some good items, and if you do get this bonus level, it's a glimpse of what's to come, as a few victims are at good risk depending on the paths you take.

This was also the last level to be made.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage 3 - War On Werewolves
This has to be one of my favorite levels in the stage. The idea is that the stage is getting bombed, probably to quarantine and exterminate all the Werewolves in the area. The idea of this stage comes from one of Silver.EXEs levels, where he uses the bazooka explosion as a respawning monster to blow up things. The Bazooka Explosion is the second thing made into one after the Cabinet Monster.

This level also has a custom tileset, not really much changed to the tiles themselves, however because the bazooka explosion would change the tiles like a trapdoor, or obviously a bazooka blast, I had to duplicate all the tiles so it wouldn't do that, as the explosions are going off pretty much everywhere, the first testing video actually showed an error tile because the second version of it was selected.

If for whatever reason the player needs to use bazooka, to the left of the spawn theres a bazooka drop out of a trashcan. Next to the player starting spot is a Talking Skull from ZAMN The Sequel, who will let you know if there are Transforming Tourist Couples or not.

If you also have cross or forks from previous levels, this stage isn't too bad. You can only get unlucky if a hedge breaks right next to a vulnerable victim,

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage 4 - Sundae The 15th
I think this is easily my favorite level of the hack, between this or the Credit Level, and no it's not because it's a tileset Izzy Glow made that has me in it. Even though thats true the opportunity of the level name Sundae The 15th was way too good to pass up.

So many Lumberjacks, which replace the Chainsaw Maniacs with edited sounds. Really there's only 7 of them like the original Level 4 Chainsaw Hedgemaze Mayhem. Also a lot of Jelly Blobs and 1 Tentacle Spawn somewhere in the north part of the level.

I'm not the only one getting an appearance as Izzy Glow, Zefennekinfan, and either Sky Hurricane or BNESS. I honestly can't tell because both of them are yellow, but I only assume it could be Sky because of the headphones, but I can be wrong.

The one thing about this Level I don't like is the fact that some of the Lumberjacks will just run into the wall and act stupid. Droter told me this has something to do with them having a target, but I'm unsure. Some of them do what they're supposed to, others done, and some of them are a mix.

The baby in the top left corner is easily the highest risk of the level. If you somehow haven't lost someone up to this point, this may be the first one that gets you. I think the Lumberjack is closer to the baby than the Chainsaw Maniac was on Level 31 Look Whos Coming to Dinner (ZAMN 31).

At least the og Cheerleader is still here, not crying either, but just sitting in the room next to the Barbecue Guy.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Goofier Than Elmer Fudd - Stage 5 Whats Up Dork
This stage is probably the beginning of the frustration. It's a little frustrating with all the Dorks, but this was one of the levels I was anticipating to make. You see before I made most of the stages, I came up with level names to base those levels off of, and I thought this one was funny.

There's 7 Dorks in this stage, and a few Cross pickups for them. They're probably not the most annoying thing, as depending who you are, the spiders can also be more annoying. Non Respawning Monsters include Fires and Pod Plants.

Victims are placed Strategically, in spots where the Dorks can kill them. There's also Mummies, and a Fire Baby somewhere, and can't forget about the aforementioned spiders. The most annoying is Victim #2 in the bottom left, as a Dork will immediately go up into them. Best approach is coming from the right, and quickly spawning him in before he gets the baby. If you only have 1 victim, that's the only time you won't have that baby. Super High Risk.

All in all if you're new to playing this, then you're bound to losing someone on this stage.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage 6 - Wrong Game Get Slayed Bossay
This Levels name is supposed to have some sort of Sass behind it. Some drag queen type stuff to it. Really I didn't wanna name it something like Mario. It's supposed to also be kinda like I Came, Chainsaw, I Conquered (Ultimate 31).

You're mostly gonna get Slayed by the Evil Tomato, who now behaves and replaces the Vampire. Other enemies feature the Mini Tomatoes, which replaces Bats, and is the third thing to be turned into a Respawning Monster.

Spring, Frankenstein, and Clones make their first appearance as well. Zombies, Spiders, and Fire Babys also return.

Property of Nintendo, I primarily remade SMB1 tiles as my first fully custom Level Tileset, with a Yoshis Island door and skull door. And yes, the springboard from Mario Maker is infact a trampoline. I really like this level, and the Explorer in the top right is placed in such an evil spot

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

More Annoying Than Stage 6 - Stage 7 Spider Weeds
Now this level is more annoying than the previous two levels as the title suggests, as instead of 1 Spider type, there are two of them. As previously mentioned, the Mushroom Men was replaced by a Slow Spider. You can easily tell the difference by Speed, Looks, and Damage, as the Slow Spider still takes two hits.

This level was also inspired by Level 31 American Bad Grass (Skys ZAMN 31), which was made by Sky Hurricane. He also appears in the level telling you this. Next to him are two Skeleton Keys. You should only use 1 as the other is able to be kept, and you can use it on Grab n Go Level 11B.

Also calling to American Bad Grass are the few Lumberjacks sprinkled in the level. One will spawn right next to an Explorer, but he's not the highest risk victim. The top left most explorer has a Fast Spider coming right after him every time, and the bottom left most explorer also has a Slow Spider spawning almost next to another Explorer.

Kind of a frustrating stage with having to switch between items and using Weed Whacker on both types of Spiders.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Uncover The Bugs And Corpses In - Stage 8 Indiana Worms
This level is very very evil with the Explorer placements, but that and the design is why I really like this stage. First there's a lot of custom tiles to be seen.

Second, you finally get to see some Ants in this stage. There's also the usual suspects in a Pyramid. Zombies, Mummies and Spring to name them. There's also 3 snakeoids, aka Grandma Margaret.

At this point its getting very difficult, so there's a 1 Up and 2 Med Kits you can find in the level.

I'm not sure what else I should say about this level. I've been here writing this for about over an hour now.

Can't forget that this level also has a Secret Level. The only way you can access that stage is by getting every Explorer in this level. Similar to Mars Needs cheerleaders (ZAMN Level 12). You have to know what you're doing to save everyone, and approach from certain directions. Some others require using the retreat method.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Secret Stage - Gary Torture (8B/YNXN-3/Level File 19)
This is the only stage in the hack that requires you to have every victim to access (excluding YNXN). Replacing Dr Bug with Gary The Cat was also a late change into the making of this hack, as I wanted the Secret Stage to be special. Of course the Tomatoes had to make a return in this Stage, as a Gary stage is very incomplete without them.

TOMATO TOMATO TOMATO

There's also a part of the stage where if you walk through a trap door to get the blue dollar, you get "stuck." However in the top left corner of the room, theres a hidden water tile for you to jump into to exit if you don't have bazooka.

Most of the Garys aren't too bad to save, even with Werewolves jumping at them, and Frankenstein spawning right next to them, but if you run to them you should be good.

This level mostly exist for the reasons above, and I also really like the dark palette to the castle tile set.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because She Doesn't Judge Abortions - Stage 9 Spring Section.
To clear the Elephant in the room, this levels name is very very diabolical, however it's already diabolical for the fact Spring doesn't judge, no matter if its your dad, or your baby, or your dog. Yuck.

Otherwise this is an edited beach level with Spring, with a Giant Toddler on it. Usually the Titanic Toddler messes with the beach animation, but I had to change some tiles palettes to others (Pyramid Skull Door, Tiles going from sand to water) so they wouldn't mess up.

Really this is probably the first Titanic Toddler beach stage that has islands like this, not sure if that's a fact or not.

Even though this is the first stage to the last set of 4 levels, there are some bad victims, like some of the babies before the skull door, or the Harold closest to the bottom right who has Spring spawn right under him. To save him, put a clown down to lure Spring out of the water.

Victim Number 1 isn't all that safe either, as Spring will jump up and get them, so when you enter the beach house, its best to approach from the left and fight the dork, rather than going the right way or else there's a chance you lose it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't Wanna Be An Outer Space Idiot - Stage 10 All Across The Alienation
Yes this Levels Title is a reference to Green Days Don't Wanna Be An American Idiot. Was proud of it as it was one of the first level titles I came up with, and there hasn't been a legitimate Martian Level yet.

Despite that, this level can be a real pain, as mostly you have to rely on luck. The first Explorer you come across sometimes has a Martian spawn right on top of them, so its a toss up whether you save them or not. Also the Second Teacher and Second Explorer are at risk to Tentacles, which is random since you don't know when they'll spawn on the side of your screen.

If you don't have 4 or more Victims, you better hope you go to the bottom of the level to grab the skeleton key, or else you'll have to go back through the entire stage to get it.

To me this is a weird stage, and I both love and hate it. Love the design and the tile set Silver made, but hate how difficult it is, but that's kinda the point, and plus there's two more harder stages after this.

Featuring Martians, The UFO, Clones, Jelly Blobs, Tentacles, Ants, and both Spider Types

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage 11 - Balls of Fire
Yes this Levels title is very very immature, but considering what's in this stage, its quite fitting. If you also love your health, then this stage is not for you, as out of all the levels in this hack, this one is the most health costing, you're probably gonna lose a life or maybe 2.

This level is littered with Eyeballs, the 4th and final thing made into a non respawning monster, and they are NOT forgiving either as they spawn like crazy, if this stage wasn't bad as is, some victims are super difficult to get, as the baby below spawn is very high risk to a Mummy, you might need Pandoras Box or Speed Shoes. And that's not to mention there's Two Transforming Tourists Couples in this stage too. The first one you'll come across is also very high risk to Eyeballs and Mummies.

The last real bad victim is the Explorer on the Bottom of the Level, as it has an Eyeball spawning right next to him. The best way to get him is to get the two prior victims mentioned then go immediately for him.

There are Fire Babies and Spiders in this stage, but they're not really that relevant. At least for the main part Fire Babies aren't, as if you even want to get the Bonus Level.

The Bonus Level is something else, as you have to blow up a breakable wall, and walk behind some crypts, to get to Dr Tongue, who will turn into a head. The only problem is you have to somewhat fight him on lava while there's a spam of eyeballs getting launched at you. Very horrible and health costing, but there's a med kit, some hamburgers, and a life down there if you need it.

When you defeat Dr Tongue you need to go back to where you started the level to pick up the Bonus Level that was behind the changeable wall.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bonus Stage - Grab N Go (11B/YNXN-2/Level File 18)

After playing a brutal level, this level is a nice breath off fresh air. Sure theres a couple of victims at risk here, such as the Military Guy, and the Final Cheerleader and Dog having Lumberjacks Spawning right next to them. Thats right, the Lumberjacks respawn (They take forever to respawn though). Non Respawning Monsters usually make Victim Number 1 Disappear if you don't save them prior, however Harold the pool idiot (Victim Number 1) is placed in a way you cannot walk right by him, meaning you have to save him.

To the right of the Respawning Lumberjacks is a Skeleton Key Room with a Point Bonus and a Flamethower. If you kept a Skeleton Key from Level 7, this is where you use it.

If you start on Level 9 or are lacking resources to this point, this is a good stage to get some goodies for the Final Level.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

How Did You Manage To Get Here - Stage 12 Our Inner Demons
Good luck if you wanna save everyone on this stage, as it's almost complete bs. First of all you have to save 3 Tourist Couples, but that's not even the worst part. One of them is behind a Skull Door, and you have to save a near impossible Teacher to get without Speed Shoes (Inspired from Impossible?)

If you get all of them before the palette fades, that's not all, as the next person you'd have to save is Zombie101 in the bottom right of the corner. Usually if the palette has already faded, you have to lure the werewolf that spawns next to him over to you first, however another werewolf makes this nearly impossible and will kill him. So you might as well use another pair of Speed Shoes on them before the palette fully fades.

And that's not even the worst part. The worst part is trying to walk by a baby and a teacher. Mostly the Teacher as Zombies spawn very quickly under neath her. If you're in a hurry use a 3rd pair of Speed Shoes if you have that, otherwise good luck with retreating and using pandoras box.

Some of the remaining victims are kinda bad, like the baby at the top right, but a ghost potion if you have that comes in handy to saving them.

This stage has pretty much everything, Tomatoes, Frankenstein, Lumberjacks, Martians, literally everything. This is also the only stage in the entire hack to feature Castle Electricity.

Despite this level being very very evil, I like it a lot. And Victim Number 1, I don't recommend hanging around her as a Mummy can spawn above her, never lost her since I'm unsure if you're even close enough to spawn it in. One last thing is that there is an infinite item drop to the right in the same room. If you know what the tile is then you'll know.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Credit Stage - Party For The Psycho Whom Made This (Credit Level/Level File 13)
Using a tile set from Adventures of ZAMN by Silver.EXE, I modified it to turn it into a little house for Chaz's Birthday Party. Added Balloons and a custom birthday cake tile for the occasion.

Pretty much every item is here, except for Cross, and everyone from the hack you may recognize is here, such as Droter, Joseph K, Sky Hurricane, Zombie101, and others you may have seen throughout the hack. Other enemies too like Tentacles, Jelly Blobs, Spiders, Evil Dolls, Mummies, Martians, and Zombies can be found here with more.

And everyone is wearing a party hat. Don't forget about that.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Credit Stage - Party For The Psycho Whom Made This (YNXN-1/Level File 17)
Literally everything is the exact same as the credit level, except you are denied a Skeleton Key and entry from the guy out front. The joke here is that since you just showed up here without playing the game, you are not allowed in and have to find an alternative way in.

Plus I just decided to combine XDSJ and XWJR, considering theres this and 3 Bonus Levels. Playing through all of these will give you a score screen.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

OTHER FACTS:

-There's No Such Thing as Level Files 14, 15, or 16
-Zombie Sprites, Mushroom Men Sprites, and Vampire Sprites still exist within the game, just go unused.
-Lumberjacks can't even cut down anything in their first appearance Sundae The 15th (Level 4)
-The Dorks (Formerly Kelly Flock) are now worth 500 Points Instead of 10
-I was having a hard time finding things to add
-Levels 2 - 11 were all made within a day, build wise
