18. February, 2001 Version 1.7

- Again a long time has passed since the last release...
so don't ask me what has changed, ehehe :)
Ok, some things I can remember:

  * fixed a issue which could cause a crash on emu exit
  * faster sample decoding
  * better psx spu irq support
  * all kind of changes related to sample loops

- There are still several sound glitches, some are caused
  a) by the Midas library (Midas _really_ hates it when
the pitch gets changed while a sample is still playing,
causing strange garbage repeats... most games of a
certain RPG company will suffer by this bug, sigh...
listen to those terrible beeps in FF7/8/9, CC, LoM...
and you will notice what I mean)
  b) by the technique I use to feed the Midas library with
sound data, making it hard to emulate the spu irq 100%
  perfectly (FF8 mdec sound... bah!)
  c) by my little spu coding knowledge, so ADSR and
reverb effects are just simple approaches.

- Some more notes:
  * be sure to disable the "SPU IRQ" option, when you
are using my plugin with epsxe (maybe some games
will still need it, but most will work better without)
  * if the sound is too bad: use NULL2's spu plugin :)
Or use the internal epsxe spu, if you are playing a
  game with epsxe.

- Well, I dunno if I will do another Midas spu update...
the Midas pitch changing bug is really bothering me.
Maybe I will do a new spu plugin without Midas, though.
  We will see :)

The feeling took a hold of me with every word I said
The voice was born and came alive from all I saw and heard
And now I knew my destiny, I had to spread the word."

24. September, 2000 Version 1.6

- Just fixed a big bad bug with the new interface, causing some
games to not work at all, tsts... big thanx to Null2 for the
  hint :)

I am asking back: 'Do you believe in stones?'"

17. September, 2000 Version 1.5

- Changed the loop detection... now those tunes in
the intro of FF7 are right

- Well, I've also noticed that the 'dynamic pitch changing'
is sometimes handled real badly by the Midas library...
dunno if I can do something about it, we'll see :(
You can disable 'Pitch changes while...' if the glitches
  are unbearable, though

- Some changes with the new spu dll interface.. if you
are coding a psx emu (or a spu plugin, of course, hi NULL2 :),
feel free to send me a mail :) There seems to be a bug
with Gran Turismo and the new spu interface, though, dunno
if it's because of the spu or because of the psx emu... tsts

19. August, 2000 Version 1.4

- Woooaaa... long time since the last update. Well, as you can see by
the version number, there were some (internal) releases, but I was
not satisfied by that versions to release them to the public.
Many things has changed from version 1.1 to 1.4, and I think it's
okay to give this version to a bigger audience (that's you :)

- Many things... yup. To much to remember all... but I hope that this
SPU is working fine with many games. This spu has also a new dll
interface which is not used by PSEmu Pro 1.xx, but who knows, there
are some upcoming psx emus out there which may use the new functions 8)

- Final word: look at the readme file to get more informations... I am
too tired right now to type anything else :)

- Uuhh... final final word: if you have some informations about the psx
spu reverb/noise/frequency modulation-stuff, feel free to send me a
  mail :)

03. July, 1999 Version 1.1

- Fixed tiny bug causing unwanted noise. Sound should be cleaner now :)
- Fixed deadlock situation on PSE exit
- More correct loop implementation
- Added 'Ignore pitch changes' option. The old version (1.0) ignored pitch
changes all the time while a sample was playing, so some games (like Driver)
didn't sound right. If you disable that option such games will play correctly,
but other games will get some unwanted effects (mostly in the background music).
Well, at least you can choose ;)
- Added 'amplification level' in the config dialog, so you can boost up the
overall volume. Default value is 100%...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

27. June, 1999 Version 1.0

- killed that crappy timer func for feeding sound data... if it's crappy
and you know it, clap your hands :)
Using a thread now... hey, real multitasking ;)
- 'Always play sample option'... better for some games
- official release

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

23. June, 1999 Version 0.3

- killed a MIDAS bug (actually it was my mistake) causing a crash on
  startup
- sample loop support (maybe right, but I don't think so...)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

22. June, 1999 Version 0.2

- (very crappy) sound support

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

20. June, 1999 Version 0.1

- first coding day :)
- just playing XA audio data
