=== Final Fantasy VI (SNES) Hand Cursor Hack ===

= Introduction =

A recurring item in the Final Fantasy series is the "hand cursor" which is omnipresent in the menus, etc... This cursor is almost like the trademark of Final Fantasy games (although hand cursors have been used in other games as well). All cursors in the Final Fantasy games 1 to 9 are hand cursors, right ? Well almost... While all other cursors of the series are hand cursors, they decided for whatever reason to use an arrow cursor when dialogue choices appear in FF6 - and exclusively in dialogue choices - all other cursors in FF6 are hand cursor as well.

This inconstancy irritated me really so I decided to hack the game to change this arrow cursor into a hand cursor.

= How to use =

Since this hack is very simple, I made it applicable to all versions of the game. 4 patches are available :

* Use a J patch for the Japanese Final Fantasy VI (J) ROM or any hack or translation based on it.
* Use a U patch for the American Final Fantasy III (U) (v1.0) or Final Fantasy III (U) (v1.1) ROM, or any hack or translation based on it.
* Use a headered patch on ROMs with a header (size : 3146240 bytes)
* Use a headerless patch on ROMs without a header (size : 3145728 bytes)

= To do =

Replace this ugly small hand drawn on the BG layer by the "real" hand cursor sprite. This would require some advanced hacking however.
