1) Introduction
----------------
GB Colorizer is a crude DOS program that converts normal (non-
color) Gameboy ROMs into Gameboy Color ROMS. It does this by 'hacking'
GBC palettes into the rom file. When played on an emulator (or a real
Color Gameboy using a Flash Cart) it will be detected as a Gameboy
Color Game and will have a palette of 8 colors. Of course one color
is transparent so it is actually seven colors. People with flash carts
may find this exceptionally useful because they will no longer depend
on the Gameboy Color's built in palettes.

2) What do I need to run it?
-----------------------------
-GBCLRZR.EXE - the executable

-OPCODE.DAT - the patch code file

-a mouse

3) How do I use GB Colorizer?
------------------------------
Like I said before, GB Colorizer is a crude DOS program. It should
be fairly simple to use. When you run the program you will see two sets
of colors, each set containing 8 rows and 4 columns. Each row is a
palette and each column is a color value. This information is displayed
on screen.

*NOTE*
At the present moment, only the colors in the first row (BG Palette
0 and Sprite Palette 0) will actually affect the colors of the game.
The Gameboy Color can have up to 64 (56 visable) colors. Unfortunately
all tiles are viewed with palette 0 when colorized with GB Colorizer.
I hope to enhance GB Colorizer to make use of all available colors in
the future.

To edit a color, just click on it with the mouse. You will be
prompted to enter the Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) values for the new
color. Once you have set all the colors to what you'de like to appear
in the game, press 'P'. You will be prompted for the ROM file to patch
enter the file name of your Gameboy ROM and hit 'Enter'. Voila! Your
ROM has been colorized! Open it in an emulator and check it out! If
you don't like the colors go back to the GB Colorizer (Windows users
don't have to close GB Colorizer, just minimize it and open the
emulator) edit the colors and patch it again!.

4) What should I know before using it?
---------------------------------------
-ALWAYS back up your Gameboy ROM before patching it. While I've tested
the program on a handfull of ROMS, it is always possible that certain
games will not work after being patched.

-GB Colorizer can repatch a rom it's already patched, but cannot patch
a game that is already a Gameboy Color ROM. If you try to anyway you
 will probably corrupt the ROM.

-Editing any other palette other than 0 is useless right now. I haven't
figured out how to set the different palettes to tiles yet. I'm kinda
new to this whole ROM-hacking thing. Hopfully I'll figure it out for
 the next version.
